Monday - Well, with one thing and another it's down to Ventura tomorrow. Everyone is pushing to get started, but things are still a bit behind.

Sunday 6 April  2014
Sunday - Working away on this and that.

Enjoying playing Words With Friends on the iPad, though I've lost both of the games completed so far.

Dave called, and we discussed the plans for next week. I'll probably head down to Ventura Monday evening, as I'm still dealing with tax issues, and he has things of his own to do Monday.

I just can't figure out what's going on with the SEP-IRA. By my calculations I should be nearly dead on, but the Vanguard Overview page says there are no contributions, while the detailed Transactions page says there are. What the heck? I'll have to call them first thing tomorrow and get it straightened out.

Made another trial at using the new (to us) Promark 3 RTK system in the back yard. The manuals are horrible...

I was trying to charge the batteries later in the mappers later, and things went south. I wanted to keep the mappers up out of reach, so that the cats couldn't nibble on the cables. The outlet on the counter top only has a standard two element receptacle. The mapper plugs are so large that you can't plug two in at once - I think I've mentioned the horrible horrible human design failures of the Magellan mappers before, this is just another case.

Since the counter top outlets are used so much I decided to pull an old multiple adapter fixture off the wall, where the old Beowulf cluster used to be, and put it on top of the counter outlets. And got a snap, crackle, pop, and a dead circuit for my trouble. Nothing can be easy. So, I went outside and tried to reset the breaker - and it wouldn't. Either the outlet is shorted out, or the breaker has failed.

All this at about 6:30pm. I was too tired to mess with it, and I'm busy tomorrow, so it'll have to wait for a week or so to be fixed. I just took the mappers out to the garage and plugged them in there for the night.

Still trying to clean up the garage. I've an idea of some more shelf's, but didn't get a chance to work on them. Actually I need to purge too. Perhaps it's time to completely empty the garage, clean and paint, and only put back useful stuff.
