Saturday - Nice to be back.

I honestly didn't do much, mostly just unpacked stuff that I brought up from the rental, started to think about installing OSX El Capitan on the MacBook for the new year.

Which means backing everything up, most importantly the keychains and credentials. A first effort failed at the export - the command for exporting those is grayed out for some reason in Xcode.

And of course there are actual pages and videos devoted to the task of explaining how to find out whether Apple's Time Machine utility actually backed up what you hoped it would.

Sigh. Here we go again with Apple incompetence/indifference, just another year.


I did make a (distressingly long) list of things I need to do in the new year.


We went to lunch at Famous Dave's, the boy's choice. I was still stuffed at dinnertime. K's off to LAX and back to school tomorrow. I'd forgotten how short breaks are in the quarter system.
