Saturday 10 October 2015
Saturday - Sunny and warm. Back in Lancaster for the weekend, then I need to get back to Saticoy on Sunday night or early Monday morning. No Columbus Day holiday for the non-federal workers I guess.

I had to take Riley into the vet for his shots. While he was there I have them trim a couple of overgrown claws and give him a vitamin shot. In and out in five minutes: it was a quiet morning there.

Lunch with R and S. We tried to go to the "Blue Koi", but it has gone out of business. We've been going there since it opened, under various managements. Ah well.

Instead we went to the Mahli's in Palmdale, and I, for the first time in a while, picked up the tab.

I owe, I owe, so off to work I go...

Speaking of which, my younger brother retired this week....

Friday 9 October 2015
Friday - OTR. Hot in Ventura and, when I got there around 9pm, in Lancaster. sigh. Heavy traffic all the way home on the I-14.

All I can say is that I expected to be in the field a lot less for a part time inspection job.

But why did it have to be during a heat wave? It was 101F on the job site, according to the card thermometer, which is generally accurate.

In any case the money is certainly welcome.

Thursday 8 October 2015

Thursday - OTR.

Wednesday 7 October 2015

Wednesday - OTR.

Tuesday 6 October 2015
Tuesday - OTR.

Monday 5 October 2015
Monday - OTR.

Sigh. A day doesn't go by without some 'excitement'. I keep thinking I'll put in a four hour day, but it's happened once in the last two weeks. And I'm not even counting office time.

Sunday 4 October 2015
Sunday - It was raining lightly in the morning when I arose. They'd predicted it, but I admit I was dubious.

I need to do a bit of work on the app, and a bit of work on the inspection job, but am still pretty tired.

One unfortunate side effect of being on my feet all day is that my training for the hike has lapsed. I need to suck it up and get back into the routine, tired or not. Next week, maybe...

I guess Russia is kicking us out of Syria? I guess Obama is as completely incompetent at foreign affairs as he is at domestic. I saw a tweet somewhere, to the effect that the last time a Russian treated a Black American this badly Apollo Creed died...

I'll have to head down to Ventura tonight.
