Saturday 4 May  2019
Saturday - Warmish again.

I woke up in the am hours rather ill, and was up until dawn.  "Bowing to the porcelain god", Ugghh, though I felt slightly better afterwards.

It was Chinese takeout with friends last night, but none of them had any issues, so I guess it's just my delicate tummy.  I didn't get anything done at all during the day.

Friday 3 May 2019
Friday - Warm again.  Ran the a/c for a bit.

I went in to town and refilled my propane tank.  We were just about the first people there at 9am, so it went pretty quick.

Worked on various small things around the house.

Book # 18 was The Scorch Trials, by James Dashner.  Meh.

Thursday 2 May 2019
Thursday - Warming up, perhaps 80F.

I went for a walk in the morning, about 2 miles, then worked on the app for a bit.  Lots of Monarch butterflies still.

My leg was a bit sore by evening.

Book #17 was The Maze Runner, by James Dashner.  It was OK, a bit dark, like the Hunger Games. I'd seen the icon on Amazon Prime, and thought is was a Prime (free) movie, but it wasn't, so I downloaded a free ebook copy via the library (Libby) instead.

Weird that they want $5 to watch a five year old movie...

Wednesday 1 May 2019
Wednesday - Cool and much less windy.

Did about a two mile walk in the morning.  There are butterflies everywhere - the Monarch's are migrating. I was thinking of weed-whacking in the back yard, but it can wait - they seem attracted to the wild mustard, and any flowering plants in general. Not the clouds that I saw on the Eucalyptus in Ventura County a few years ago, but still a lot.

I remembered to put my trash out, which is good, since it's been a couple of week.  I had the car pulled back, so as to be able to spray weeds in the cracks, so the garbage truck pulled a good fifteen feet into my front yard to make his turn.  I waved at him and made the "NO" sign, but I'm going to have to put some sort of delineation fence up.

I ordered another, somewhat smaller, propane tank for the house from Amazon. I meant to get a 40lb unit, but ordered a 30lb by accident.  When I realized what I'd done I almost changed the order, but discovered that a 40lb unit is $110, while the $30lb is only $48.  More than double the cost, for a measly 10 pounds of fuel volume - the 40lb units are for forklifts apparently.  No thanks.

My current tank must be down to vapors, but there is still hot water in the mornings.

Tuesday 30 April  2019
Tuesday - Very windy. It's a bit cooler, but the howling of the wind in the opened up a/c ducting is really annoying.

Working on the app again.  I was trying to run an Xcode demo that was to use the OSX console, and it wouldn't run because of signing certificate errors.  I wrestled with it for a couple of hours, and finally gave up for the day.  I once saw someone refer to Apple's security as "Opaque and Byzantine", that hasn't changed. Things still work fine for iOS projects.

Monday 29 April 2019
Monday - Very windy. I couldn't find a weather site I trusted, but I'd say sustained winds at 30mph+.

Still a bit under the weather, but feeling better.

The termite control people came, and saw the issues, and will be out Friday or Saturday to take some measures.

My Federal and State tax refunds came on last Friday I noticed.  For some reason the Federal is short of what I hand calculated, and what TurboTax's program calculated.  Weird.

Sunday 28 April 2019
Sunday - Pleasant Sunday weather.

A bit warm and windy in the afternoon.

I did some grocery shopping with S.  The leg was better.

I wasn't feeling 100%, so mostly just sat around and read and watched teevee..

Book #16 was The Golden Tresses of the Dead, by Alan Bradley.  It was OK, better than the last few books, but still had some plotting issues.
