Saturday 27  October  2018
Saturday - A pleasant day.

Did some chores, cleaning up stuff around the house, and a bunch of laundry.

I also started working on the outside again, trying to fix the gap at the master bedroom windows. It's an odd setup there, but I have to seal it before power washing the clapboard, or even the eave soffits. I also started caulking around the window frames, front and back.

There are gaps, from construction, that I can put a finger through - all out of sight of course.  I suspect that the builder had help and that they did the minimum when he wasn't around or couldn't see their work. Some gaps are minor and some are large - shrinkage from 30 years of dry desert weather. I don't want a lot of water getting in and forcing me to do drywall work.

It's nice weather for working, but it'd be better to use it to dry the washed stuff before painting.

Book #39 was A Sailor of Austria, by John Biggins.  Amusing, a bit sad.

Friday 26 October 2018
Friday - Another decent day.

Spent some time in the morning dealing with tax stuff, again.  At what point did every organization become incompetent?  It seems like I have to always correct them, no matter what or who - the feds, the state, big banks.

Even Microsoft can't even issue a twice yearly update, successfully.  It's weird.

Worked on STARS and NOPE in the afternoon.

Thursday 25 October 2018
Thursday - Another pleasant day, with a walk in the morning.

I noticed that the local vegetation, sage, is starting to come into bloom.  It seems like an odd time of year, but that's what it did last year as well.  I had moved out of the old house and into the RV on 1 November, and it was blooming around here then.

Download the newer version of FreeCad, and am working with it.  The laptop seems to have some issues, becoming completely unresponsive for long periods of time, very annoying.

Wednesday 24 October 2018

Wednesday - Pleasant.  Did a morning walk.

While out walking I saw the "rescued" dogs from a few weeks back, in someone's yard, about 3/4 mile from here.  It's probably their home, though I guess another sucker might be putting them up...

I worked on the app and FreeCad some more.

I looked again for more memory for the HP laptop.  It's SODIMM, which I guess is actually two DIMM's glued together or something, and just isn't available.  Not from Crucial, Kingston or PNY.  I could get 8GB, which is only a minor upgrade from 6GB.  There is one online retailer that claims to have the 16GB option, but their reviews are literally 1 star! Oh well, it isn't critical.

I also plugged in the little touchscreen, since it's been about a year since I used it. It didn't even have the current WiFi password.  Once I entered that it went flat out downloading updates, still working when I went to bed.

This time a year ago I thought we were done and we were thinking about the Windows/Android versions of the app, hence the touchscreen.

Hands are much better.

Dodger's lost game 2 of the Series, two losses in a row at Fenway.  I guess they're hosting games 3 and 4 in Los Angeles in a day or so.

Tuesday 23 October 2018
Tuesday - Pleasant out. Took a morning walk.

Working on various things.

Talked to S a bit, we may leave some upgrades out of the app for now, it's past time to ship it out...

Fiddled around with FreeCad 0.17, it's not a lot different from 0.16, at least from my perspective, though they apparently did quite a bit with it.

Monday 22 October 2018
Monday - Pleasant weather still.

I went for a walk in the morning - I feel fat, and maybe a short walk every morning, a couple of miles, will help with things.

Working away on the app, and some STARS stuff as well.  It's been a while since I worked on the latter, I feel rusty.  I think version 0.17 of FreeCad has come out and been updated, I'll have to see.

Hands are better, not so much pain as soreness.

Sunday 21 October 2018
Sunday - Cool in the morning - wool shirt weather, again, for a few hours.

There was some extremely loud music (Mexican) from somewhere to the north of D-14, D-12 or further.  I could hear it down on E whilst getting my mail in the evening, so at least 1/4 mile away. That's the third party with concert level sound, all in different places, in a month. The neighborhood is starting to decline...

Got a text from K, I guess his ship was out to sea and coming back on Saturday.

No house repairs, or even typing.  Hands still hurt.
