Saturday 14 October  2017
Saturday - I have a lead on a house in the west Antelope Valley, out in Antelope Acres.  Talked to the owner, the price is right, but I'm a bit cash poor.  I'll have to sell the existing place if I want to avoid excessive tax penalties.

Tuesday 10 October 2017
Tuesday - It's a number of very large fires it seems, burning stuff all over the wine country.

Monday  9 October  2017
Monday - Sometime during the day I called my friends, who were still up north, and discovered that they had been evacuated from their hotel, along with the rest of the wedding pary, because of a huge fire.  They were apparently escorted out through flames, and the reports are that the hotel and all belongings left behind have been burned....

Wow.

Sunday 8 October 2017
Sunday - OTR, back to Lancaster.

We got up at a normal time, had a nice breakfast, talked to the bride and groom, then hit the road south.

Traffic was moderate, and we made good time.  The Nissan Rogue is quiet and fast and economical, a 3.0L V-6 motor.  We did stop in Martinez to see the old house, now sold, and at Andersen's for the famous Pea Soup.  Reading their menu they are back down to just the two restaurants, the one on the I-5 and the one on the I-101.  Tim said they had one down San Diego way, but that it closed over a decade ago. I thought they had six or seven at one point.

Not much going on. Fed the dogs and pretty much napped until it was time to go to bed....
