Saturday - Had some help from the boys next door, got the wall scraped. I'll TSP it, then we can prime and (finally!) paint it. The weather has been near perfect for painting.
Friday -
Thursday - Starting on the north wall - I pressure washed it again, then started scraping. I can get the boys to help on some of this, it's a big and tall wall.
Wednesday - Started scraping and wire brushing the north wall. The weather is continuing to look remarkably good.
I texted TB up in Plummer that I wasn't coming - this weather is too good to pass up, that north wall is a disaster!
Tuesday - In the morning I went off to Costco with AH, and refilled my propane tank.
Afterwards, painted the entire east wall with PH's help, looks pretty good, if I do say so myself.
It took hours, because of the clapboards, and the impossibility of seeing "holidays" while applying the paint, which goes on nearly flat white. It darkens to a tan/cream color, but it takes 45 minutes or so.
Monday - Did the "cutting in" around the doors and window and trim on the east side of the house. I also painted the lower several strakes of clapboard, since they were so far gone that two coats of finish are probably needed, on top of the primer.
My hands ache, but I have some help tomorrow.
Sunday - Shopping in the morning.
A bit of prepping on the back side of the house, patching, priming, cleaning, prior to painting tomorrow.
I did a bit more work in cleaning up the garage and work areas.
