Saturday 3 February 2018
Saturday - There is a little local newspaper, the Lake & Valley Gazette (no web page).

It recently had an interesting article about "The Big One" and the need to prepare.  It specifically reports a Sheriff's Deputy tasked with emergency preparedness making a speech in which he mentions that "three days supply" is not enough for the Antelope Valley residents, they need a "30 days supply" and they they expect the roads to Los Angeles to be cut indefinitely...

Well, I have a lot of stuff, though most of it is over in a container at the new house, protected not so much by the lock on the container as by the three dimensional tetris the boys performed with all of my belongings to get them all to fit.  It's pretty packed in.

Friday 2 February 2018
Friday - Book #5 was Hammer of the Witches (The Covenant Chronicles Book 2) by Kai Wai Cheah.  Eh.  I really liked the first book, but this was just kind of a let down.

I have a Japanese science fiction book, A Wild Sheep Chase, that several individuals have highly recommended.  I'm only about four or five pages in, but, so far, meh...

Thursday 1 February 2018
Thursday - Talked to my brother M briefly, he's going in for a colonoscopy next week. No problems, just a preventative medicine thing I guess.

Cleaning up in the house again, this time in the kitchen.  It's kind of scary when "the clean room" turns out to be so disgusting.  Ughh.  And it is, of course, a fairly complicated room, with lots of stuff to tape off and cut in, after cleaning and before painting.

My friend C mentioned that she'd been in my old neighborhood lately, and that it looked like the new owners were just now installing new carpet.  About a month....

Wednesday 31 January 2018

Wednesday - It was the Super Blue Blood Moon eclipse today, in the early am.  Nice copper eclipse, one of the best I've seen.  After a spotlight bright full moon in the early evening made eyepatches necessary to sleep.

There is some Saticoy inspection working coming up, probably the week after next.  A couple of dozen of Wye's that need repairing.  It shouldn't take long, unless it includes a few of the really deep ones.

A good change to check on the boat and stay a couple of nights.

Tuesday 30 January 2018
Tuesday - Watched the Falcon Heavy launch, absolutely flawless.  The boosters landing seemed like an animation...  Aaron, Scott and myself all watched from his house, I got a phone call from my brother in Carson City.  This is the most excited I've been about a space launch in decades.

Monday 29 January  2018
Monday - Falcon Heavy launch tomorrow, should be something else.

Sunday 28 January 2018
Sunday - I did some shopping in the morning with S, picked up a few things.  Coffee beans, for one thing.  Four and a half coffee drinkers go through a lot of beans. ( The 1/2 being one of the boys that sometimes indulges.  The others prefer juices and milk still.)

S came by and along with Aaron's wife L, and they had a good time cleaning in the kitchen, putting in shelf paper, and the like.  It is so dirty that **anything** is a help. I wouldn't personally to eat off a plate or cup that touched anything in the this kitchen before being cleaned repeatedly!
